Longevity is a popular topic, especially for adults who lived life before social media and handheld devices. True, now we have access to great information because of said devices, but the new 50 looks very different than it did even a decade ago.  Those of us paying attention to the ever-changing world know this.  Wellness is all the rage, it’s everywhere, some one recently told me.  Yet everywhere you look, there is a bandwagon over here full of gimmicks and hype, there’s “healthy” junk foods and injections over there.  One can now try to address the root cause of disease with lasers and cryotherapy.  The practical wisdom of our ancestors seems simple and removed from the modern epoch in which we’re all living, but when things get thrown out of balance, practical wisdom works.  Because at the end of the day, when one does not have the means to freeze away years of hard living in a cryo chamber; at the end of the day when life is just overwhelming… breathing is free.  Tea is easy. There is medicine in nature all around us.

Seasonal change calls for reprioritization of routines and daily wellness.  Life change calls for the same thing.  We know our body at 50 does not look nor feel the same as it did at 30, so why are we still treating it the same?  There is a myriad of ways to customize these details according to our personal constitution. Keeping it simple to start, gradual changes will be noticed after 40 days, after 60 days.  With integration of health-oriented practices, acclimation to seasons of the year and seasons of life becomes easier.  Stress, discomfort and health imbalances are headed-off at the pass.  Diet, lifestyle, sleep - the trifecta.

What are you feeding your body, from where does your energy come?

How steadfast are you with prioritizing rest, keeping routines?

Are you taking time for nature?  Gratitude?

How does sleep become a pillar of health?

What are the root causes of our imbalances that laser beams cannot address?

Small changes in our diet and lifestyle lead to big results over time.  Talk about all this and more with an Ayurvedic practitioner; I think you will learn something new and exciting to apply to your daily life!
